It’s a Jungle Out There!

Right now, my mind is a jungle. There are perhaps a million if not thousands of thoughts running though my mind at this moment. Right now, this is it.

I started a blog a couple of years ago thinking that life through the eyes of a teenager would be something fantastic. However, it got a bit serious and there was too  much life reflection. It actually became sad. Not that I won’t continue to post stuff up there, of course I will. It’s just that I decided to write about things that are relevant and things that matter. And no, it’s not always about matters of the heart.

Recently. Very recently I was introduced to Google Chrome. And boy am I hooked! It’s bad (or good) enough that the internet is a web of never ending things to do. Yes, if you have a thirst for knowledge and the curiosity of a grinning cat, you will ALWAYS find something to do . So with Chrome, I can actually organise my virtual life and stay focsussed. Besides, it has a number of tools that really support you when you are creatively charged. Or even when you think you are at your creative best, then you can discover a side of you, you never thought you had. It’s fantastic.

It’s a jungle out there with things to discover, places to see and people to meet, all on the web. a web that you can sometimes get tangled in. Can you imagine that even the virtual world needs some crazy organisation skills. Every time I’m working on something, there in the corner of a page is a link that will lead you to another and then another before you can even finish reading. Then you start something else and the others are left incomplete! Ugh! Quite frankly, it takes  a lot of energy out of you. Now with my new obsession, my virtual life is relatively in order. Giving me a lot of time to update my blog.

At the risk of sounding elitist, everybody these days claims to be a writer. Funny how  the art of doing so is now a skill as common as knowledge in maths. Even celebrities, who hire readers to read their script are all ‘authors’ of a book of some sort. AS long as the ghost-writer gets paid , who really cares right? It’s when you commercialise something that sort of gives it a grotesque and common appeal.

But in all honesty, I’m actually quite glad. It’s good that there is an outlet where anyone can just pen down their thoughts. In fact it was because of blogging that I developed my craft and love for writing that it is now a part of my profession. I have slowly tried to move away from my elitist and biased points of view because I’m a writer – I cannot afford to be an elitist. From my high horse that takes me back to my grand castle I have migrated to the jungle and now live in the wilderness. And I must say, I love it. It’s now a place where i don’t think I’ll ever want to leave.

For now I shall go back to sorting out my virtual world. Plus, I’m still getting the hang of using this at the same time. It really is a jungle out there.
